The Black Paintings (2022–2023)
Created during a time of deep personal transition, The Black Paintings emerged from a space of uncertainty and transformation. These works are grounded in rich, dark tones—primarily black—reflecting the heaviness I carried during that season. But within each canvas, there are glimmers of something more: light breaking through, color pushing upward, a quiet insistence on hope. This series became a way to move through the darkness—to witness it, to name it—and to trust that light was on the other side. Each piece holds that tension between shadow and illumination, stillness and becoming.
